When the document is in the Draft state, and not yet shared with the counterparty to your deal, only your team can edit or view document changes.
When the document has been shared, and is in the Reviewing state, the document ‘possession’ controls who can edit or view document changes. Only the team in ‘possession’ of the document can edit or view document changes while the document is in the reviewing state. The team which is not in possession must wait until possession is passed back before viewing or making changes themselves.
Your counterparty will have possession of the document as soon as you share the document with them. Your counterparty can make changes while in possession or trigger the signing flow. If any changes are made to the document by your counterparty, the changes will be tracked and the document possession must be handed back to your team before the signing flow can commence.
